I use the word ‘remember’ in my poetry quite a bit.
There’s the obvious definition which is to recall or remind ourselves and others of a past event.
And there’s the less-less-thought-of concept of re-membering, or reconnecting pieces to make the whole.
As the Covid decade began in 2020, we all had an unexpected excess of time to think about who we are, what we want in life, who we are and who else we are.
Like many of you, I have lost too many people over the last 18 months. All were important, one was essential in ways that I’m re-membering moment by moment.
