E is for Eutierria
A positive feeling of oneness with the earth and its life forces where the boundaries between self and the rest of nature are obliterated and a deep sense of peace and connectedness pervades consciousness. Like the Earth, our physical body breathes in and out, it wakes up and goes to sleep, and it provides a home to our individual sense of being. Realizing this requires a certain level of sensitivity that arises when one acknowledges that “No one is born watching a subject, watching an object,” and that our relationship to our state of being is synonymous to our relationship to Earth in that “it’s an un-interrogated figure staging a conceptual relation (Latour)” We were not born subjects watching an object, we were not born watching the Earth, but rather we were born out of the conceptual relation made up of what matters.. The Earth lives in a state of Anthropocene, a conceptual relation created by the humans that inhabit this planet, and instead of protecting our body, our Earth, we have failed to make ourselves sensitive to the idea that we are the Earth. ~ Eutierria and Our Intimacy with the Earth, Camryn Garza
